Similar to what Mercedes did with smaller monkey seat, Ferrari did it with the rear wing. As I said in W06 thread front grip is vital in Hungaroring even at the expense of slightly less rear grip.

Might not be. They could be running with higher AoA on rear wing, so they cut small portion of it out to try and take off a bit of added drag that AoA produces.

No it was introduced at spain, and rather than a bulge over the claro logo the area outside of that was reduced

If I am not mistaken, both cars had older version of RW flap

Yup that seems to be true... they didn't use the FW from Silverstone...

Amusingly, this thread had probably the least amount of posts for quite a while!

Both cars did race the latest spec front wing. The modified rear wing was probably never intended to race at Hungary, rather a data gathering exersize for Spa or another upcoming race with lower downforce requirements.

Curious thing this gurney on the inside end of the wing, never seen it used in this way, did the wing always have it, or is this something for Hungary?

The downward curve at the flap/endplate boundry is new for Ferrari (Merc has used it earlier this year at Canada), and was only tested in Hungary, not raced. I suspect Ferrari were testing it for an upcoming race, but perhaps it just didn't perform as well as the standard straight edged flap. I assume the goal of the change is to improve the L/D of the wing with some sacrifice in total downforce.

It definitely was raced, just look at the picture of Sebastian's car.
