Is confirmed by Honda that they will test a PU mark 1 this week and a PU mark 2 next week. Who did those engines? We don't know.isullivan wrote:Very strange why axe him now and not at the end of last year ?
Also a "Rogue Team" developing a version of the PU on the side is that confirmed ?
Apparently they do their reshuffle once a Year if i'm reading the Press release right. Also the Board Meeting at witch the decision was made was last Tuesday.isullivan wrote:Very strange why axe him now and not at the end of last year ?

I can not resist the feeling Arai is paying for his bosses mistakes.isullivan wrote:Very strange why axe him now and not at the end of last year ?

I´d love to know how reliable are your sourcesSasha wrote:My sources in Japan state that the upgrades that the 2016 PU will have at the next test was done by a 'Rogue R&D Team' run by ex-Honda F1 engineers(it looks like they where shamed/embarrassed with the product the young team and their leaders delivered last year).
What I heard was they ran their own development and their's ran better and fixed last years ERS problems.
Honda's problem lately is too many yes men over get it done men!
Mess? How would you know what route is correct beforehand otherwise?tok-tokkie wrote:This is really depressing news. So it appears they have not even settled on a PU design and there are two factions involved and just a few days before the engine freeze. What a mess again.

I agree. We won't see any meaningful development until European "season" starts in SpainThis is really depressing news. So it appears they have not even settled on a PU design and there are two factions involved and just a few days before the engine freeze. What a mess again.

''Some people just want to see the world burn'' - quote from the Dark Night RisesThunders wrote:How can you say that when we have reports even from Jenson Button that the PU they are driving now will NOT be the one for Melbourne?
Seriously stop the doom and gloom people. It's not like he had all the Information, Contacts, Technical drawings and Phone Numbers nd simply dissapeared..... Both Arai and Hasegawa are at the Track and there is a totally normal transition Phase. This happens a million Times in Management positions. The World doesn't stop turning.
According to a supposed insider from vtec.net forums, the reason is that internally a second team made better engine (eg "won" internal for Honda comnpetition between engines)
Quote
"The final straw for him was the new TC designed by the 'Rogue R&D Engineers supported by retired ex-Honda F1 Engineers' won the internal comp!
Arai was 100% against their design so they did it behind his back with the blessing of the F1 Legends.
This is why it will not be ready until the first race.
Arai was just thick headed and was going to stick with last years failed design....keep on doing the say thing thinking it will do better cost him his job! "
