I disagree with that. With high noses, pull rods gave better air flow under them, and were more compact compared to the other solution. That offcourse, changed with lowering of noses because of new rules. Ferrari retained the highest possible mounting point positioning, and sculpted those platapuses and fake steps of theirs, still attempting to get as much air under them. But last year, everyone was already at the second and third generation of lower fronts, Ferrari was on theirs first, they finally deemed them better. While the rest were sculpting some very compact push rod designs, Ferrari was still on pull rods. Now in that situation advantage for compactness was gone, all aero advantage was gone, and it probably also prevented shorter nose.
I loved them back them, still think they offered advantage back them, but I frankly now thing they were a big mistake. Ferrari 150°, last without them, and last under Costa was a very competitive car. In place of evolution they went with revolution that they then dragged around for consecutive seasons.
