All hopes for the last day are down the drain by now. Being a McLaren fan is hard, it is getting embarrassing. I wonder how long the team will be able to hold frustration under control. It can do strange things with people.

I have no hope whatsoever regarding a decent points finish for the first couple of races now. I do hope they will actually finish races, which seems highly unlikely now. We're at the ending of testing and the problems just seem to be getting worse instead of less.

The evolution is there, 30 laps= red flag, 15 laps= red flag..........so in Australia 5 laps and DNF(a single one because the history will be repeated and Vandoorme won´t begin the race).

This is so sad, really...

If they qualify In 10th or 11th in Australia I will be happy even if they double dnf.

That's because then we will know that they have a solid base and the engine is the main problem. When the engine improves, the car will improve and hopefully become contenders for regular points

According to the race report yesterday they do not know the reason for this electrical fault...

How long can the engine be terrible? I know it has no reliability and no power, but how long can the trend continue? Will the Honda engine be doomed to DNF for 3/4ths of the season?

Like wazari said, they left no time for testing in Honda, and this is the aftermath. My fear is that when they fix something, something else will fail because of lack of testing, and the wicked circle will continue...

The only thing Honda can do now due to the token ban is focus on reliability there is 2 weeks to make this engine some what reliable (which is highly unlikely) personally i don't think this engine will be sorted out until (at least) Russia-Spain

The most inteligent thing McLaren Honda have to do, if they want to win, is stop the current development of the MCL32 and MCL33, and invest all the resources to design, test and develop the 2019 car, with the engine in top of the list.

Those 2 years can be used to test for the 2019's car.

MCL32 was started in middle 2015. If it is as good as McLaren think it is, then why wait until 2019.

Take 2017 as development year (again due to Honda), and built / develop mega car for next year. Honda thinks this engine has the potential to beat the Merc engine.
