Why worried? It's good publicity for McLaren in America, Fernando is kept happy and McLaren isn't in the run for the Championship anyways.

Plus we maybe get a Monaco Farewell Race for Jenson. =D>
And if one of mcl32 accidentally wins monaco...

Then Mclaren will get the Constructors Points anyways, regardless of who drove the Car.

Makes sense for Mclaren's sponsorship hunt

Was just thinking about that too. I think a big Part of that has to be credited to Zak. Never would this have happend under Ron Dennis' Leadership. It's a great way to showcase McLaren to lots and lots of People.

Jaw on the floor for this one.

I'll be cheering for Fernando in the Indy 500.

That would be a miracle... now imagine that Alonso wins the race. That would be interesting.

Maybe Mclaren is not interested in F1 anymore and want test the water.
Could it be in a future they focus more on road car division. And only maintain presence in low tech spec series motorsport as publicity? Thereby having bigger road car budget?

So its true that Alonso was going to quit before the season ending... :D

Now seriously, Fernando hasn´t been that special in Monaco and he has always been very interesed in this race so I think it could be a good idea.

Maybe Honda promised Mclaren and Aonso a race win in 2017 but the series was in fine print

Imagine Honda just told Takuma Sato he isn't racing Indy this year, but the Monaco GP.

I hope Alonso is a quick learner. This is a once off race and learning a totally style of driving. Publicity and relying on talent is one thing but I'm not so sure about this one. How much practice will he get (with other 40 plus cars around)?
