Not just engine parameters like ignition timing and fuel maps, but also ERS managment, such as deployment and harvesting strategies, along with boost maps, throttle maps and brake by wire settings.
I expect that they did those things with experience of past two races.godlameroso wrote: ↑15 Apr 2017, 22:09Not just engine parameters like ignition timing and fuel maps, but also ERS managment, such as deployment and harvesting strategies, along with boost maps, throttle maps and brake by wire settings.
Okay I understand it is probably a nightmare to setup, but shouldn't they already have a base to work with? Can't they "upload" their last parameters they used on last PU? Or I am missing something and every PU needs a specific and different calibration?godlameroso wrote: ↑15 Apr 2017, 22:09Not just engine parameters like ignition timing and fuel maps, but also ERS managment, such as deployment and harvesting strategies, along with boost maps, throttle maps and brake by wire settings.
I don't think that identical spec engines would require much difference by way of settings, If true it suggests quite a difference between specs.
However, there are concerns within McLaren that the MGU-H problem will recur in the race.
True point....We cannot complete a lap or doing qualifying. I don't care too much about the driveability if I cannot finish a race so far this year, or if I cannot finish qualifying now.
