Well, you know Schuey's desire for an autistic monkey for a teammate...

The best is that there will not be an ego problem within the team...

I don't know what some of the researchers who make these robots are thinking. Do people really have the money/time/inclination to talk to a mentally challenged artificial human? What's wrong with talking to real humans? It will take so much time before a robot could say anything interesting, and by then, why do we care? We already take human life for granted, why do we need artificial humans?

I think they said it in Jurassic Park, "Just because we can, doesn't mean we should."

Whats the problem with Massa? Why is he so underrated and ignored by everyone?
I can´t seem to get it... he is fast, not the best but his learning curve was good.

The other day someone asked me why I didn´t like Nelson Piquet... well he ignored and refused to give friends advice to Senna in 1982/3 when he was a kid and closed the door to him in Brabham for 1984 season.

Now tell me what has Massa done to deserve the boot?

I only can think in a team with Alonso and Raikkonen... Ferrari would take the 16 wins that McLaren could not take in 1988.

There's no problem

with Massa, at least for me. People have just carried over some impressions from the Schumi days. Felipe had a good chance last season and it wouldn't have taken much to turn the tables ... Raikkonen has been very consistent in saying that he expects things to continue being close between him and his team mate which, regarding last season's results, is quite a high compliment. I'm perfectly confident that if Massa's and Kimi's situation coming to the last race of 2008 was reversed from 2007, Kimi would have no qualms in doing everything possible to secure a WDC for Felipe. Neither of the two are chasing records in F1, thankfully they're here to race.

I just picked Massa for the joke because I knew people would look.

To be honest however, I put Massa in the "Need's Drivers aides to be competitive" catergory.

We will see in about 2 weeks. I dont think the new regs are going to suit Massa very well, but only time will tell.

Designers will be up in arms over that, all the weight is at the top. Surely they should have put its brains in its backside... It'd be more like a racing driver too then.

It would seem to me that when most modern people see a person who is willing to be self-less in order to aid in a greater cause they see them as weak or as a person who is not capable of being a true champion. Whether Massa is a "great" driver or not, he is a noble and humble person, and that should speak more about a person than how many championships they have.

He was asked to aid Raikkonens championship bid late in the season when it was obvious Massa wasn't statistically capable of going for the crown himself. I am sure that if Massa's season had gotten better results on a consistant basis all throughout, he would have not been asked to provide assistance to his teammate.

And that is how a team should function, when one of the two drivers is more probable to win a championship the other driver should assist both his teammates bid for the title, and to an even greater extent the constructors title (which is why a team is competing in the first place). ~Total unification is one of the best approaches for improvement and success within a team~.

....I apologize for the rant.

I like Massa, and like mx said he is a fantastic team-player. To his credit, he put in some great qualifying sessions, especially in Bahrain and Spain after the disastrous Malaysian GP of 07 where he lost out twice trying to overtake Hammy. I also have to thank Massa (and Kubica) for my personal highlight of the 07 season: the last lap of the Japanese GP (http://youtube.com/watch?v=N13gFowP0u4)...But the aforementioned Malaysian 07 GP, the European 07 & Hungarian 07** & Chinese 06 GP's aren't exactly highlights, and they're all down to the driver. He's very good, but he's not Raikkonen or Alonso good. Nothing against the guy! :D And as we said, he's a great team-player, so a question to everyone: is he going to end up second to Kimi like Rubens was to Michael?? I invite comments on that one! :D

Personally, I think Massa won't be able to match Kimi...

Anyway, cheers everyone! Enjoy the weekend!

** Yes the team caused quali problems but he started 14th and only finished 13th--not exactly a great drive

IMO..definitely will not be as supportive as Ruben to Ferrari for MS.
Michael Schumacher said "Raikkonen's most dangerous rival will be Massa" .. i think that will be correct prediction but lets wait n watch

Btw.. iirc that 13-14 drive was Hungary ..strategy played crucial role in that result.
