It made sure teams like mclaren and ferrari cant just buy their way to a championship, wich also goes against the spirit and principles of the sport. That has provided a field with close racing wich many agree, last year was one of the best in a long time. As many said 2006 was very good too. Apparently the engine technology cut is not a deciding factor to make sure we see some good racing. (I also remember times when most of the field used Ford V8 DFVs and nobody got upset over breaking principles;). In that respect its Mosley 1 - 0 Dennis. And Flavio, the teamboss with 2 consecutive titles behind his name, also wanted and wants even more changes to provide a better 'show' for us, the fans. That is something ul never hear Dennis say. It is one of the reason i hold Briatore in higher regard.
What's your point? First you agree with the engine rules by stating that it helps some teams to stay, and then again you'd like V12s back...
Ron Dennis is certainly not a bad factor in F1, and for the cost cutting measures it is always Ferrari that is holding off the boat. Ron Dennis and McLaren are, despite being wealthy, usually cooperative to cost cutting.
If you cannot agree with that and the fact that cost cutting, when implemented well, is good for F1, then you simply have your facts wrong and there is nothing more to discuss.
