We'll need to reevaluate. Moving target.

Different cooling needs?AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑03 Jul 2017, 19:47Still can't really understand why Honda didn't use last year's engine for the first 4-5 races! Spec 2 seemed as powerful as last year's engine with a lot more unreliability! Only through reliability they would have got some points! I think Renault almost did the same!
You mean the 2016 engine would require a revised chassis?GoranF1 wrote: ↑03 Jul 2017, 20:27Different cooling needs?AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑03 Jul 2017, 19:47Still can't really understand why Honda didn't use last year's engine for the first 4-5 races! I dont know maybe...its different layout engine completly.AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑03 Jul 2017, 20:59You mean the 2016 engine would require a revised chassis?GoranF1 wrote: ↑03 Jul 2017, 20:27Different cooling needs?AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑03 Jul 2017, 19:47Still can't really understand why Honda didn't use last year's engine for the first 4-5 races! If the new engine is completely different size/shape/weight/c of g etc, there's No way they'd be able to package it in a 2017 car in a meaningful way. Any aero development they did would be a lottery whether it worked when they put the '17 engine back in and thus changed the size/shape/weight/c of g of the car, plus they wouldn't have had all data they have from the running/breaking they have done.AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑03 Jul 2017, 19:47Still can't really understand why Honda didn't use last year's engine for the first 4-5 races! Agreed, especially considering a named component in the upgrade is revised fuel injectors. And as we know, a power bump brings efficiency gains, so it's reasonable to suggest it will be at least be an improvement this race.
As other posters have said, it wouldn't have fit in the same space as the new power unit.AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑03 Jul 2017, 19:47Still can't really understand why Honda didn't use last year's engine for the first 4-5 races! Both Alonso and Hasegawa sound reasonably optimistic for this race. I hope they are right this time.
