well, let's not start a debate about the halo here but I tend to agree with them.
I agree with them too, just take the Macca, absolutely stunning new livery blemished by the ugly halo ... RedBull have done a decent job of camouflaging it, but they are in the minority.

I think the halo is a very nice example of brutalism in motorsport and as such will be regarded as superior aesthetically in the future.

Interesting to see that only McLaren are opting for the supersoft and (just now) hypersoft tyres, both yesterday and today. I recall they tended towards the softer compounds last season as well. Wonder why the other teams aren't doing the same?

There are reports that the RB14 has a fuel leak just like they had during the shakedown in Silverstone. Verstappen has left the circuit for now.

Autosport getting all up in arms about the halo again.

"New F1 cars' appearance validate halo rage". Good grief. Safety vs. appearance - if only one fatal accident is prevented by the halo, it's worth it. Also I'm of the opinion that they really don't look bad at all...

Sorry but as I said yesterday look at the area near the side pods/bargeboards. It's ugly as hell. Even without the halo these cars aren't exactly lookers!!!

Now Vandoorne goes fastest with a 1m20.325s. He is on Hyper-soft tires

Given the cold conditions, I'm guessing the hypersofts will be a little grippier without significant drag... But how much faster will they be than the softs that the Merc is on? I know the times at present are obviously not representative, but that's still a quick lap.

Hypersoft should be worse in these conditions than the Soft since it needs more temperature to Work.

Lots of cars having moments in turn 1/2, that includes the ferrari at 4:41. Though from what I've seen on the official stream it did look by far the most planted of the cars running at that time (no red bull though).

What official stream?
There were some intermittent live streams 10-20 minutes long from various points on the track on the official F1 facebook page.

Good point. In which case that's actually even more impressive. It's still interesting to me that McLaren are focusing on the softer compounds at the moment...
