Marca says they were 3 or 4 laps in 1:17's, the last one was the quickest in sectors 1 and 2 so yes about 1:17.5 more or less. What i have seen is that the McLaren has been quite slow in speed traps all the week, Alonso said in the interview after the end that they have put a little bit more on the engine side and that's the reason of the 1:17's and also add that everyone is hidding their true potential, also them.
Yeah. While I'm not expecting miracles from Macca, I think that last stint gives at least a little source for optimism.Dextercitox wrote: ↑09 Mar 2018, 23:56Alonso said in the interview after the end that they have put a little bit more on the engine side and that's the reason of the 1:17's and also add that everyone is hidding their true potential, also them.
I don't know if that was more of a rhetorical question, but if I am not mistaken that was 3 years in a row: 2006, 2007 and 2008. As we all know they narrowly lost both championships in 2006, won both in 2007 (constructors due to McLaren being disqualified though) and won constructors in 2008 with narrowly missing on drivers. After that they had: very bad, decent, bad, decent, good, terrible, good, bad, very good and now we will seeNathanOlder wrote: ↑09 Mar 2018, 23:14On the subject of Ferrari's pace. When was the last time Ferrari brought a good car to the season, after having a good car the year before ?
Aren't the cars refueled during the tire change? In recent years during testing no team did a race like pitstop and just changed tires. Hence they could (hypothetically) be going with the same fuel load for every stint.Phil wrote: ↑09 Mar 2018, 16:17You should check out dans post, he actually went through the effort of comparing Vettels medium stint vs Bottas medium stint on equal fuel loads and highlighting the age of the respective tires at that point. No one, really no one, was comparing SS vs M in either case.

Refuelling isn’t allowed in pitlane, outlaps are consistent with normal outlap timesMandrake wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 01:08Aren't the cars refueled during the tire change?
