i know they are testing already things with 2019 in mind, but i also think they are slow when doing the Qualy pratice runs etc.. i think they will have a hard time making it into Q2.

Ye they have nothing, that's why they were much better in Silverstone. They're good at high speed stuff and high downforce circuits.
Ok next three races after Hockenheim are Hungaroring - very downforce-dependent race and Spa + Monza - clearly high speed dependent. According to your opinion we will se both Mclaren in Q3 and strong points on races :)

Spa and Monza aren't high downforce, they're very low downforce circuits.

Yep, thats why I wrote high speed-dependent not downforce-dependent like for Hungary!

Mclaren should do well at Spa, it's been one of their best track for the last few seasons.

From FP2 timings, they don't seem to be a million miles away from the midfield, they could make Q2. They haven't found the right balance yet, according to them. If they can hook it together I think they can get at least one car through to Q2. Q3 seems to be definitely a bridge too far.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

He said "High speed and high downforce" circuits, not high speed or high downforce.

1:20's is bottom of midfield pace, it's not looking good this weekend, hopefully they can get more performance out of the car tomorrow.

How the car will perform in Monza and Spa will depend on Hungary upgrades. No point in speculating though. Tomorrow's quali will be tough. Around P14 or P15.

You're referring to the long run pace, right?

Race fans says Hockenhiem is

Full throttle 53.5%
Longest flat-out section 1240m
Downforce level Medium
Gear changes per lap 40

Medium DF is McLarens weakness ATM.

question, everyone seems to think that the problem with the Mclaren is mechanical/ low traction ( suspension design etc ) however, everytime it rained and Alonso went out... he was on the top of the timesheets.... now if its wet its always low grip / traction. it wold be good to see a real qualy in the rain to mesure... what do you guys think about this?
