Now that's a good move
yup. Stoffelcharliesmithhd wrote: ↑25 Jul 2018, 16:28Could there be a single area/part which is bottlenecking performance?
alonso will most likely stay because no other team really wants him, except for mclarenGood now i want Alonso to stay.
Believe it or not, but Renault want him, but not his price tag. They're also not keen on a short term deal. They would probably want a multi year contract, which Fernando is unlikely to commit to.
There is a certain appeal to being the driver who helped rebuild a stricken McLaren back to its glory days, maybe Alonso will see that and stay. It's either that or retirement to be honest. At this stage in his career, going to another team.. there is always a period of getting comfortable, engineers change, processes change. If he isn't going to RBR or Merc, I feel like he'll remain with McLaren or retire. He's comfortable. The current phase of not winning/being competitive is a downside, but the pro will be the inevitable resurgence and being involved with that would pay dividends. IMO.
Very good post, I have to say, I've never looked at Fernando's situation from that perspective.GhostF1 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 08:52There is a certain appeal to being the driver who helped rebuild a stricken McLaren back to its glory days, maybe Alonso will see that and stay.
