That's what he is already, for 2018.

I think it has to be Mclaren or Williams. With either he has to be the 'controller' of the team, probably just below the name that 'runs' the team like Zak or Clare
It would be a bit of a head scratcher if it does pan out that way. Don't get me wrong, if it did happen, I'd be thrilled, because in my opinion, Esteban is the real deal, but like you said, on a business side, why would Mclaren develop a Mercedes driver? Are Mclaren eyeing some Mercedes personnel? Are they getting paid, or is it simply to improve short term competitiveness, with a more capable driver, based on their performances? Would they now have an option for him permanently?
But Williams is out for technical staff while Mclaren management staff. Which is why I think they'll want monetary compensation instead, like with Bottas.Big Tea wrote: ↑23 Aug 2018, 12:51I think it has to be Mclaren or Williams. I was just wondering if there was anything in the Stroll connection of a driver and team coordinator moving from FI to Williams as part of the deal?
Ocon won't get a Merc seat till at least 2021, so why not hire a highly rated driver free of cost?Ground Effect wrote: ↑23 Aug 2018, 12:58It would be a bit of a head scratcher if it does pan out that way. He would be an asset where ever he went. I cannot think why Stroll would not want him where he is, unless its 'principles'M840TR wrote: ↑23 Aug 2018, 13:00But Williams is out for technical staff while Mclaren management staff. They Have Zak, they have Gil... I can't see where he would fit in, but you never know. I think Mclaren's needs are greater in the engineering and Technical departments.
because McLaren has his pilot better than Okon, NorrisM840TR wrote: ↑23 Aug 2018, 13:02Ocon won't get a Merc seat till at least 2021, so why not hire a highly rated driver free of cost?Ground Effect wrote: ↑23 Aug 2018, 12:58It would be a bit of a head scratcher if it does pan out that way. Apparently it has something to do with his close ties to Vijay Mallya.Big Tea wrote: ↑23 Aug 2018, 13:09He would be an asset where ever he went. Zak isn't an experienced CEO in F1 and could use a sidekick given all the restructuring.Ground Effect wrote: ↑23 Aug 2018, 13:12They Have Zak, they have Gil... I can't see where he would fit in, but you never know. I think Mclaren's needs are greater in the engineering and Technical departments.
