I know all that, and I watched the race as well as all FPs and Qs. RB has cooked the engine on Friday and the software is still new, nothing broke and the power potential is there, it just needs software refining.
Well, the lack of cooling vents didn't help though.Bill wrote: ↑19 Sep 2018, 06:41My point is Rbr are not deriving any benefits in having spec3 in their car. The benefits to cost ratio is negative, u could all talk about potential but all teams have a pu on a dyno that has little more power but u don't bring it to track unless the reliability and engine maps is sorted
Do you have a source for this information?
Max reported on his radio that he was having false neutrals and poor driveability, I think it was exiting corners.
Yes I heard that too but I just wanted to be sure that RBR or Renault had confirmed the Spec3 is to blame.
Even in a compromised state the engine lasted fine for a full race distance. I'd say that was fairly impressive for a cooked engine. It also has much more drive from 9krpm up out of corners - to the point where you can see/hear the difference even on TV.Bill wrote: ↑19 Sep 2018, 06:41My point is Rbr are not deriving any benefits in having spec3 in their car.
