Nice. They came from 3-4 sec stops to sub 2.5 mid season.

Hopefully a sign that new McLaren and the new McLaren way is working.
Finally, everyone knows that Red Bull is a joke and Max Verstappen is overrated.

The bigger news to me is that Ferrari had a sub-2s pit stop. Holy friggin’ cow.

Same story. Botched pit-stop in backmarker car while being one of the all time greats etc etc

Read a lot of news re: Andreas Seidl ex Porsche LMP1 boss moving to an unknown F1 team.
The articles seem to hint it's either McLaren or Williams because "they are going through restructuring".

Is there anything out there pointing to McLaren?

Yeah, first team to break the 2 sec barrier with the new larger tyres.

Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Bob Fernley to Mclaren IndyCar

That's a very interesting move. To be honest with you I would rather see him joining their F1 rather than IndyCar, but it's really nice to see a man of his caliber leading McLaren's Indy project.

I agree, I think he would be a fantastic addition the Mclaren's F1 team. Wouldn't it have made more sense move Gil to the IndyCar project, while Fernley handles the F1 side? Anyways, the good news is that he's in the Mclaren family, movements can always happen.

I knew something was cooking when all senior team heads had a meeting with him in the paddock, Maybe this can serve as a test bench for future F-1 involvement or bigger Indycar role.

Well, not so strange, they can't just paint an Andretti car orange anymore since the split with Honda. Do they still have close ties with Penske? As I recall, the only thing that's not really standard on an indy car is the suspension springs and dampers, the rest they can just source from Dalara and GM.

Are you 100% they will not use a Honda?
Now that it has been (more or less) established that they were getting a bad press in the Mclaren, the name in America is not so much attached to last years Mclaren F1 and I think Honda are savvy enough to look at the deal honestly and make a decision with out bias.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Pretty sure, as sure anything in motorsport... not only do Alonso and Honda have a history now (gp2 engine!) he's also under contract of Toyota. That they contracted Bob means, I think, that they are setting up their own team instead of buying a seat at Andretti Honda.
