Autosport:
In Abu Dhabi on Friday, McLaren chief executive Zak Brown indicated that the matter was resolved, saying "James will be with us next year" - though he clarified that it would be at "some point" rather than specifically in time for the start of the new season.

blacky on autosport forum made me aware of this article, suggesting mclaren is seidls destination, and merc was never really an option. I hope this is true, because that would atleast give some hope. Both seem well considered choices

Sounds like a good option, I always like the way how Germans operate.

Lots of seemingly good news regarding McLaren in the past week or so.

Seidl likely to join, Key transfer seemingly closer, Bob Fernley joining (who will probably get involved in the F1 program at some point), Sainz released early to participate in the tyre test for the team and now confirmed that Fernando is likely to stay on as test driver in some fashion for 2019. If nothing else it’ll keep Norris & Sainz on their toes!

First some questions. Who is Seidl? Is he that good?

Also that is slightly trolling but I would love to see the face of the Honda fanboys to see how the feel seeing the back of a car that has stopped it's development for half of a season.

Its nothing great, since both teams are trailling at the back.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

First part of the season was good, 2nd part was a no show, but still 6th is better than 9th (2017) so a better season overall.

Now I'm eager to see what they make next year. Pain is the best teacher, and after the last few years McLaren has earned a Ph.D's worth of insight.

I'd be interested in asking Zak what odds he gave, going into this year, for a good Chassis/Renault PU to happen this year. Probably not as high as we think.
