Coke... Needs different color to make it more visible...
McLaren are quite particular about colour, they don't want an imbalance on the car's colour scheme. Like the 7-eleven branding isn't the colour used by the company
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Actually just noticed the Coca Cola sponsor on the engine cover. Doesn't look very prominent with the black on papaya. A nice white coca cola ribbon (?) along the cover might make it stand out more.

I'd keep an eye also on Racing Point as well. Checo made it into Q3, with a car that they've not quite broken into. It was the most updated car, as they understand it more, they'll go quicker. Really glad Key starts soon. Hopefully they'll keep going in the right direction. I'm hoping for a clean start and good race for Lando, and a quick start for Carlos, he's like Fernando in that regard, quick off the line.
Si.

The midfield is so tight, managed to sneak 5th fastest position, not too bad, but we have a big job ahead. Middle of the pack is where most hoped we would start, but that's a fair gap to HAAS, hope we pick that up as the season goes. Although I think given the issues we had in Barcelona, Aus will not be the most representative track for Mclarens fastest pace.

I don’t thin that even Bahrain will give a clear picture... There is a reason why historically, the order hasn’t been clear until after Spain

No man the fast tracks always give us the real order so i think that the top 3 will steal remain as here in melbourne but with less gap and mclaren will battle Hass and Raikko in bahrain for best of the rest
You seem to forget that last year Toro Rosso ended up 4th in Bahrain, doing a fantastic job at it... That didn’t meant that they were the 4th team in the Championship... Be patient and enjoy the ride!

I agree. Racing point will be dangerous, especially on power tracks. I just hope McLaren hit the right direction with development, unlike last season. If they do, they could be 5th in constr. (4th is a bit of strech)

Good question. I've asked it before. You just have to look at the alternatives and logical deduction should lead everyone to be a McLaren (or Williams) supporter ;)

For those who follow the English Premier League, I'd say they're the Arsenal of F1. Rich history, lots of past glory days, record setters and breakers, but have fallen on tough times. Great manager that stayed a bit too long and was reluctant to change. Even during the tough times, they keep their high estimation of themselves. They're now trying to rebuild and return to the top with new management.... Oh, and most importantly, loathed by the media... :D

Except for the red fans. There is a very wild discussion in their team thread with people exchanging silence. x'D

Yes but to the naked eye, Mclaren is racing with the same car they had in Barcelona, so taking this into account, I think its not bad for the first Qualy of the year

LANDO MAN YOU HAVE BALLS!!! The end of Lando's Q2 lap, at the exit of the last corner when the back of the car was going everywhere, he kept pushing and made it into the Q3.

This fact that this kid showed us he has balls for me is the motivation I needed for tomorrow and for the rest of the season. Unlucky Carlos coming across Kubica's puncture, but I hope he can move forward tomorrow as he has quite a few fresh sets of tires due to his early exit.

Overall, very positive start of the season for Mclaren, new/old sponsor announced today, so things are moving in the right direction

So very true. I have the same feeling since 2006 😁

McLaren delays the switch of their fuel supplier. Would suggest they are worried the Petrobras product isn’t as developed as either party would want. Sensible approach by the team imo to stick with BP/Castrol.

McLaren’s drag issues seem to have been solved. They lose between 0.5 and 0.7 seconds per sector to the fastest.
