Actually he's rearended someone three times. He rearended Alonso in Bahrain, he rearended Heikki somewhere can't remember off the top of my head, and he very stupidly rearended Kimi. He also hit Heikki in the first turn of the first lap at Silverstone. Yeah the kid is good, no doubt about it. But rearending three people and hitting his own teammate twice is unacceptable to me. All he knows are banzai moves when he really wants to pass someone. Everywhere I've raced you'd be DQ'd for the season for that kinda crap.
And yet no one is innocent, I only harp on Lewis because I'm tired of the comparisons to F1 legends. Which he isn't. When he acheives as much as they have then we should compare them.
Christ he's only in his second season. And are you seriously suggesting that Alonso, Kimi, and Massa have never hit another driver on the circuit or rear ended someone?
Before this season it seemed that Massa couldn't go near an overtaking opportunity without hitting the other car. Kimi's had his fair share too, including rear ending a back marker! And Alonso's had the most brain dead moment of all of them, when he failed to lift for waved yellows in Brazil, slamming into Mark Webbers wreckage. He was incredibly lucky that wasn't a much more serious accident and that he didn't have his superlicense revoked.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the sport and be thankful that in this time where consistency is rewarded and applauded above all else that there's still the odd driver in F1 with the balls to take some risks and try to actually race.
Ps. Before I'm accused of fanboyism, I include both Alonso and Raikkonnen in that category.
