PU mapping can help but it's tricky and that's just covering the fundamental problem of mechanical grip. They need to fix that asap as they may not have the advantages they had at the tracks they won at last year. Merc seem better in that department this year. Having said that apart from the poor getaway they seem to have improved on low speed corners in Baku.

Silly question: they do run Renault engines in their show run cars, don't they?

Unless there are buying some V8 cosworths I suspect so. They might run Ferrari as they where inside the Toro rosso. But yes Renault is the most likely

I had a good laugh reading this 1 question interview with Cyril in Baku.
But they missed a hot moment over the weekend in Baku. Cyril Abiteboul was irritated by the question of Dutch reporter Jack Plooij, hit the partition in the interview area and threatened to leave without responding. Jack had started the question by recalling a statement from Abiteboul that Red Bull would regret choosing Honda because Renault had solved its problems. "Are you going to start the interview with a lie? So I'm leaving! "Said the Renault boss, before the press adviser circumvented the situation.

You would imagine so. Such is the funny business of F1 show and demo cars, you have Hondas painted as Mercedes, McLaren-Mercedes painted as McLaren-Honda or McLaren-Renault, Lotus painted as Renault and other shenanigans.

Max entertains fans at The Great Run in Budapest: 'Great day'

Published on 01 May 2019 by Bryan van Berlo
....This year’s event, our fifth Great Run, saw a host of motorsport machines take to a specially laid out track in one of the city’s most beautiful districts, a 2-kilometre stretch taking in Erzsébet Square and then running past the amazing neo-classical buildings and the State Opera House on upscale Andrássy Avenue.
The whole article and 16 photos.

I am gonna put Danny Ric in that same category as Cyril in terms of burns when it comes to Renault vs Honda.

Our latest F1 technical analysis video focuses on a new concept Red Bull has introduced for 2019, as well as taking an up-close look at Ferrari's first set of upgrades for its SF90 that arrived in Baku.

Jake Boxall-Legge and Edd Straw join Glenn Freeman to explain the details behind the changes, and to assess the form of both teams as they try to catch Mercedes in the title race.

So I've heard in the past that the KERS (MGU-K) system is used during starts to prevent too much wheel spin. The ERS system is largely useless on starts because the torque it delivers would automatically overpower the grip of the tires but it can be used as a sudo traction control system to apply the brakes via the energy recovery system to prevent tire spin I believe.

This isn't to say that it is perfect by any means and if the clutch is incorrectly used the engine power can still spin the rears.

If I was a team boss I wouldn't want my driver's fiddling around with engine modes going into turn one. initial get away you might be better with a less powerful mode to avoid wheel spin. But after than you would want full beans
