I agree. I had little expectation of RB this season. I was expecting burned bodywork, and exploding engines by this stage.
But I have to say I am positively surprised. Honda made a very big leap forward. There is no way you can call this a GP2 engine anymore. And RB did not botch the integration in their chassis.
Sure they cannot touch Mercedes at this point, but It would have been a miracle if they could. But they have a solid base to expand on and the momentum to get there. And as long as they manage to snatch a couple of podia, I think they are on track to be a serious contender next year.
