Redbull said before the season start they didn't need the outright best pu they just need one that is within 0.3 of the best they can close that deficit with their great chassis. Max said Honda were lagging Ferrari by 30hp that before Baku upgrades ,the bottom line is the grand chassis is nowhere to be seen they need to deliver Honda has ,hopefully the Barcelona update can take care of Ferrari then focus on Mercedes. Rbr by forgoing a tow the missed the opportunity to out qualify Ferrari which put them a risk to midfield team like Rp

I think front and rear wing are fine. COG might need some optimalisation along with the free aero gains. Tyre temperature management is biggest concern I think.

Did you miss the race in Baku?

"The grand chassis is nowhere to be seen." #-o

The gab in Qualifying with RP was 0,6 sec and in the race 60 sec !! What a risk!!

You didn't read properly I said redbull should have been aggressive in qualifying and use the tow like Mercedes Gasly should have been used to help Max . If Max would have qualified third he would not have been stuck behind Perez in the first 10 laps he lost a lot of time in that 1st stint a podium would have been possible

These words are what you THOUGHT, but not what you WROTE in your earlier post. I have read exactly what you WROTE.
Apart from that, Max could not pass Vettel and that is what Perez used to go past Max.
Max took no risk, very wise if you want to score points.

I think what RBR needed more than anything else this season is an engine that will stay together and finish the race.

If Gasly (on 13, MV on 51) had performed as was expected of him Red Bull could easily have been in the 80's by now and developments in the pipeline.
Even if they need to take penalties for new engines, as long as the car stays in the race they could be in shooting distance of one of the top 2 slipping up.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Only subtle tweaks for Barcelona. I suppose given how hard they worked to improve through the first 4 races, I couldn't logically see them bringing a big update. I think the next big update will come at their home race or in France.

I agree. I had little expectation of RB this season. I was expecting burned bodywork, and exploding engines by this stage.

But I have to say I am positively surprised. Honda made a very big leap forward. There is no way you can call this a GP2 engine anymore. And RB did not botch the integration in their chassis.

Sure they cannot touch Mercedes at this point, but It would have been a miracle if they could. But they have a solid base to expand on and the momentum to get there. And as long as they manage to snatch a couple of podia, I think they are on track to be a serious contender next year.

Redbull big upgrade is expected it was earmarked for Monaco but I quess its ready for Barcelona. They said they gonna move engine ancillaries e.g. Radiators around to get "free" performance from that they also solve their tyre issues and naturally they will bring an aero update if the past is anything to go by

They are really pulling out all the stops, you can't help but respect, and in a way be inspired by how much effort they put in to close the gap. The whole team must be drinking Red Bulls.

They probably feel they have a chance of Getting Max ahead of the Ferraris in the championship.
