Tbh., without Vettel flatspotting in turn one there would have been no podium today for RBR. They also need to thank Ferrari for --- up strategy and teamorders once again. But with Ferrari, performance wise, I think it's track to track now. With Mercs... not even Monaco it seems...
But the pace was faster, despite team orders or pitstops. After the safety Vettel was unable to catch Max, so that's great. Merc is another league, but we can finally fight Ferrari on par. And last year, same date, Redbull was far behind them. Giving that it's 1st year with Honda, and only 5 races so far, looking goodgandharva wrote: ↑12 May 2019, 19:58Tbh., without Vettel flatspotting in turn one there would have been no podium today for RBR. “Thanks to a safety car, I thought I could still have a chance of winning third place, but I soon noticed that Max Verstappen was slightly faster. Then you know that the stage is actually unfeasible. " Vettel told after the race.
Last engine update was for that. It is good if its true. In the other hand Ferrari also using updated Engine and I think they used higher modes for podium (I am not sure because they looked like they want to lose the race during whole race )
Based on what?
I have a secret document in the left top drawer of my desk. Come on man, what evidence do we ever have. The words “I think” should be enough of an disclaimer but we are all just making assumptions anyway so why I have to even write that each and every time, it should already go without saying.
Guys, I am hardcore in the RBH camp, Honda is 100% the way to go but (again) I think that they went for the second engine in Baku and barely one FP later that engine 1 is broken.
Lets hope the spec 2.0 is indeed a big reliabilty step. Max will have to use his current unit on fridays too now. Lets see If they use it more then 3 races. I currently don’t really expect so.
I'm hardcore in the RBH camp as well...and until we don't hear or read anything from RB or Honda regarding Max' Spec1-PU, I'll stay positive and hope it can be reused.Sieper wrote: ↑12 May 2019, 21:05Guys, I am hardcore in the RBH camp, Honda is 100% the way to go but (again) I think that they went for the second engine in Baku and barely one FP later that engine 1 is broken.
So what I think is that RBR and Honda know (almost) exactly how far they can go, and they currently still need to push so hard (compared to the merc and even Ferr PU) that the engine lasts just 3 races. They keep working hard and take more engines, constantly updating as 2019 now turns out to be a year still continuing to improve. As they clearly are and imho still need to.
We might now be at the point that we are just about equal with Ferrari. In 8 weeks. A great achievement imho. Now to continue onwards.
