The 2nd most sucessfull team in F1 history. Mclaren. Lets hope for row 4 in Canada.👍
I wonder where Williams would be hoping for, being 3rd most successful team ever... :D
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

What is the alternative? Let's hope for a win? I think that being realistic with goals is a good attitude to have in life. McLaren cannot expect to challenge for podiums at this point in time, even though it should strive and aim for wins and championships. This doesn't mean that fans cannot be realistic and say that being a clear 4th best team wouldn't be a good result for this year.

Indeed. =D>

Good result for the team. It seems that Monaco enabled few teams (Norris included) to run races where they were in tire preservation mode for 20-30 laps. This created strange trains of cars that were dropping away at extreme pace from the cars in front. Norris/Raikonnen did that to the SC stoppers, and Ricciardo did that to "F2" teams after the start. Quite interesting strategy which I don't really remember from prior years.

I enjoyed the race, but I am annoyed with Hamilton complaining over the radio for most of the race. Chandhook was right, his engineer should have told him if he wants to pit he can, but that he will end up 4th instead of winning. That would have shut him up.

Why criticise McLaren fans for celebrating big improvements on a long journey back to the top? It's not going to happen overnight, are we not supposed to enjoy F1 until that happens? If you don't, F1 is clearly the wrong sport for you.

As Monaco GPs go, that was pretty entertaining! Excellent pace when required around the pitstop, along with quickest pitlane time once again. Team is doing a great job in that regard, and results like this will only reinforce their momentum and drive. Excited about Canada like others are, should suit McLaren down to a tee!

Yeah, let's go!
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

As competitive as they were in Bahrain, it's a strange track, and plays well to McLaren's strengths.
I won't be surprised if McLaren were a match for redbull in canada
I don’t see us troubling Red Bull in Canada or anywhere else, different league. They’re firmly in the top 3, and top 2 on some tracks. We were close in Bahrain because they had setup issues which have long been solved. Besides, they don’t have an engine deficit to us, as Canada is a power track. Ferrari on paper should be strongest, if Mercedes don’t unleash more power.
I think they do.

Mercedes brought to Canada, the new PU, and the RP can be a serious contender, besides, we do not know how Ferrari customers will go with the new engine.

Not sure if anyone has picked up on this, but we now have the same amount of points as we had in the whole 2017 season!

I hope we can work the tyres better than Haas, I don’t know where RP will be with their car, Checo was strong in Baku.

Just ignore that fool. He's always complaining about everything. He expects McLaren to jump from P18 to P1, while being outspend 5:3 by the top 3.

Step by step, the 4th place is linked to McLaren.

But we know it can change quickly, I expect Haas and Renault to bounce back and chase McLaren at some point

The midfield is extremely tight and even leading it won’t be an easy task... But so far the team has showed that they can play in it... Canada will be telling us what to expect moving forward.

The other thing to consider is that it was at this point where our previous season went downhill and now it seems that the car can be further developed and look for points on merit instead of luck

It’s indeed a tight midfield, I’m not counting out anybody. Toro Rosso look so quick right now, Racing Point usually always recover from shaky starts, Haas probably has the quickest baseline car. I’m also sure Renault will react, they want the car sorted for the French Grand Prix. My hope is McLaren will be able to develop the car continuously in the right direction. The car isn’t the quickest in the midfield, but maybe their pit wall, strategists will continue to stand out and make a difference.

It can change quickly but it's a long shot. The Midfield is generally fighting for, barring retirements, 6 or less points per driver per race. That is a constructor's total of 10 point you can make by finishing 7 and 8th. When was the last time we saw that ? It's only in those hard to pass races(the Monacos) where you can hope to finish top 6. In the other races, well at least the top 4, can usually bounce back into the top 6 even starting from the back.

I think Renault has the better chance. I fully expect McLaren to out develop Hass during remainder of the year.
