Hulk is overrated, he is getting his ass handed by Riccardo who is new to the Team he still can't find that elusive podium. Guys who are not even in f1 like Maldonado , Perez, kobayashi has victories and podium respectively what stand out race can anyone remember from this guy he also error prone

Hulk is good, very good in every aspect of Formula 1 and if he was in the car today whole car development would be in the fast track. But would he be any close to Max? Absolutely not. Would his race results be substantially better than Gasly's? Only marginally.

"We had sorted out our problems, but when Mercedes opened the party mode in Q3, we immediately lost three tenths in the first sector," says Marko. It was the Austrian himself who still saw the problems in the first race on the chassis. "We have a great engine," he rejoiced in Australia.

"We have underestimated the step that Mercedes and Ferrari made over the winter," he now has to admit.
But it should remedy: Engine partner Honda has planned for the second half of the season, a major upgrade.

"That comes with engine number four in Monza," Marko announces. That would automatically be accompanied by a penalty. "Unless the jump is so significant, we could accept the penalty sooner," says Marko. "After the numbers we have from Honda, it will be a real boost."

Did anybody notice how smooth Hamilton exited the corner into the tunnel? Verstappen was wrestling more and you could hear the engine hessitating, while Hamilton was dissapearing into the tunnel.
Hamilton was on the softer tyre and had better rear end traction hence Max struggling to get the power down and being a bit more loose. It was It was Hamilton's front tyres that degraded badly, not the rears.
I bet it also diddn't helped Max that he was on the wrong "start throttle" mapping for the whole race. I bet thats why Lewis had that big advantage comming into the tunnel.

I just watched verstappen's onboard on f1tv and the car was acting like a pig when trying to accelerate out of slow turns. He had to short shift 2nd and 3d gear so much it almost seemed like there were no gears at all and even in 4th when he finally got onto full throttle the engine would surge massively. Like an on-off switch. It definitely played a part in him not being able to keep up with hamilton trough the tunnel.

Yes, I think so too. sad, a real chance to win the race, all lost in the hectic of the pitstop under the SC.

Well spotted. Didn't notice that earlier but the difference with Gaslys car is very clear.

Marko says that in Monza the next big Honda upgrade will come. And that the numbers revealed a big boost...

Not looking good for me. If Mercs bring 20hp in Canada they have 1 more step till the end of the season. If they bring 15hp more with last engine Honda need 65-70 hp boost. Really big step...

RBR needs to get some trick front suspension too. The one on the Merc is superior to everyone elses.

I am convinced that Honda is coming with a major upgrade of the spec 3 engine.
The spec 2 was only because of the reliability.
And according to Marko, the spec 4 has another major upgrade. ( He recently called 20HP a small upgrade  )
Together that is much more than the +/- 35 HP from Mercedes.

That does not mean that that kind of suspension is suitable for every car. It is designed for the Mercedes car.

Lowering the front in narrow corners works for every F1 car.

Don't forget about that "diff magic" setting they have. Probably a specific map of the PU that works like some sort of TC on the exit of slow corners. It's not only suspension. Mercedes are the best overall, and RBR needs everything they can get from chasis, PU to close the gap.
