Gaining 0.7 s on a competitor isn't suffering.
I recommend actually watching the race again; when you'll do, you'll see that the required avoiding measures Hamilton had to take cost him, as after that maneuver, the gap increased to beyond to what it was prior to Vettel going off track. Hamilton also reported that due to having to brake that hard, his tires lost performance.
Also Vettel made Hamilton flatspot his tires at the hairpin because Vettel was going too fast ahead of him. This made Hamilton have to drive faster and reduce his tires' performance. If Vettel had simply driven slower Hamilton would not have been forced to go faster and compromise his tires.

-defending/optimal line hold =/= forcing car off track; Ham had three choices; brake & follow, brake & go inside, brake & go outside. He chose the latter, but the door was closed on him.
This is a la la land argument, if drivers could actually use this as a defense then we would never have any passing ever.

Maybe.

I would also argue that many people seem to have forgotten how slippery the circuit was and certainly the grass wouldn't have provided any grip to allow seb to position his car in a safe manner. Seb was probably lucky he didn't go in to the wall.
Seb was lucky he didn't go in to the wall so Lewis had to suffer for it??

Jesus Christ you are as bad as them!

I think the closest Lewis got was probably a tenth away, but at that point he was slamming on the brakes as he was forced off the track by Vettel!

Braking in an acceleration zone, and being pushed all 4 wheels off the track IS suffering, what ever way you look at it, even with your biased eyes!

If the review goes in Seb's favour will the five second penalty be removed? Surely after being informed of the penalty Hamilton took less risks when trying to pass Seb. The penalty would have been served of Seb had had to stop again, as per the rules, so I do not see how they can change the result now. Maybe just the penalty points that have been added to Seb's licence would be removed.

yes exactly, they couldn't undo it now even if they wanted to and as it's edit the same stewards ruling they don't wanna anyway. Ferrari must know this, it's just a symbolic thing giving Seb some support isn't it, and in that sense it's the right thing for them to do perhaps. Seb must need it, after that mistake, again, when he and they are so desperate for that win

I suppose since today it came up in the drivers press conference and such for the next race, but indeed, I don't think there is much new material coming to light. Perhaps after tomorrow lunchtime, if Ferrari do indeed have 'new' evidence accepted by the stewards, there will be, but until then, this seems a bit pointless, right?

Not sure of where I read it, but I am sure someone here knows. Is it not correct that the result has to stand after a set time, so as bookies would know how to pay out etc?
I feel it was 12 hrs, but am not 100%.

So if that IS correct, what benefit would Ferrari get from pushing it? No points to be 'reinstated' or fine t recover, what is in it for them other than PR?
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Indeed, you seem quite engrossed by it. You think more about Ferrari more now than most Ferrari fans do. Time go buy some Marlboros.

Alternatively, they might actually have a case. *prepares for capitalized letters, emoticons, redundant punctuation, curses, and ad hominem*

You sure seem super sensitive about the subject, must be a really sore spot for you.
