Our family fleet got upgraded in the last 12 months, I got a warm hatch just over a month ago.

2019 Kia Rio GT-line 1 litre, 3 cylinder, Turbo with 7 speed DCT.

And I got the wife a new Santa Fe ActiveX (3.3 litre V6) mid last year after her Mazda got written off.

I already had my list of favourite cars I'd owned over the years, now a small list of the favourite cars I've driven around a track, in no meaningful order:

Volvo 360 "no Modena" cup car: This is a racing series with the cheapest rearwheel drive cars around. The cost for a whole season is/was around 1500 euro's. Imagine a club racing day, with all the racing cars braking at around the same point, maybe a lockup here and there but most of all, everything under control. Then the "no Modena" cup hurdles towards the first corner, locking brakes everywhere, all the cars with way to much suspension travel, hard tires... mayhem but oh so fun!

Tesla roadster prototype: A dutch racing company build two Tesla roadsters (this is way before the S type) in racing spec. It was to heavy and could only do a few laps but the throttle response was just magical!

Radical (can't remember the type): the true and only downforce car I've driven and it was scary. It took me about ten laps to go from 80 to 130 trough the same corner. This was the moment that I realised that I love racing but there is a big difference between an amateur and the real stuff.

BMW E46 M3 cup car: Just so much fun, so much power and so light.

Saker Sportscar: Polyester on a steel frame with a Subaru turbo engine. Looks a bit like an old Lola. If you had the turbo under control and made sure you hit al the apexes and take it steady, a good endurance car.

911 GT3 cup car with DTC: so easy, so precise, even if the engine is at the wrong side of the rear wheels. I loved the steering, braking and the comfort of the DTC.

Owned a 97 Volkswagen Jetta GT, 02 Kia Sportage, 98 BMW 318, 06 Chevy Equinox, and an 04 Ford Freestar, currently own an 09 Honda Civic and a 97 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. I've driven too many cars to list as I used to work as an automotive tech. The Talon is a long term project, owned it for around eight years now but have kept it stock as I'm looking to buy a second drivetrain and long block to build and swap in.

If I had only kept my cars over the years I would be a very wealthy man. And looking in Hemmings the other day I really should have saved that Black Shadow.

No, it was canabalised into my track bile, with a Triumph engine.

I have a rather long in the tooth BMW R1100RS and a Virago which is currently not 'on the road'.
I have a thing about not liking many modern bikes. :D (old gitt)

I have an Ebike which I find fine for local.

Edit, incase you thin I ama complete philistine it was the 31 I canabilised not the Gold star, so no need to send me to the neither regions. The Gold star went toward my Honda, swap for a Gold star and a venom = Honda 4 :D

I had many Limeys and have a soft spot for the English twins.
I have owned Harleys and other bikes including the aforementioned Black Shadow bought as a basket case when I was in high school. I had it about 98% together when I took it for a test drive and scared the heck out of myself and promptly sold it.
I have owned or ridden bikes literally from A (AJS) to Z (Zundapp). Other than British iron I think my favorite might well have been an R50. Smooth as glass and rock solid dependable.
EDIT: I cruise in a cage now. A 2004 Mustang SVT Cobra and a Colorado

(This is going to sound terrible!!!) Youngsters today really do not know what they are missing. :D :D :D
It is more fun making a slow bike go fast than it is doddering around on a rocketship.

There was a huge difference between the performance of a mediocre bike and a good car, but that is no longer the case most of the time.
