Actually, Lando’s pace when he switched to Hards wasn’t that bad... I believe the problem with Carlos originally is that the team wanted him to go into a one stop race and with cars in front of him it just didn’t work... When he first came out of the pits, he was told to not go after Kvyat, that I believe was the mistake... They should have gone out with everything they had and commit to a 2 stopper.
But, hopefully the team will learn from this one... A bad race, but after such a good season so far, we can’t blame them too much for this one.
