It’s definitely unexpected... The track is hotter than during the weekend, no idea if that may be having a big effect on tire behavior for the team

Personally I don't think we can lose that 4th place. We are the fastest midfield by 95% of the races. I don't believe doing bad in only one race will make us lose the 4th position. That won't happen again.

Well, with only 3 races to go it's nearly impossible to lose 4th place.

Whats the point gap? Whats the maximum points the Renaults can get if we dont get any points in the next 3 races? I dont think that will happen but I am asking in case a miracle happens.

It’s just bizarre. 49 laps in. RIC 1.21.6 on Hards from the start. SAI 21.2 on 10-15 laps old Mediums.

I would prefer to make good choices, based on logic and data and lose 4th place (lets say Renault made an 1-2 podium) than those mistakes and decisions we made today, even if we are 4tg after all. Seidl was optimistic about the pace. I think M840TR said something about bad pace during fp..

They didn’t try them... Not Sainz or Norris

They did in FP1

Carlos fires up and heads out. He's on the Hard tyre now. The Hard (white banding) this week is the C2, Medium (yellow band) is the C3, and the Soft (red band) is the C4.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

It's pretty clear something went horribly wrong. Even with new tires the car is nowhere.

Tyre management was just off this weekend for a number of reasons. Can take positives from the single lap pace, should be as we were next week at Austin. Was exciting to see Sainz mix it with the front cars again, however short lived it was.

Hulkenberg lost his points. Only 4 points for Renault.

Actually, Lando’s pace when he switched to Hards wasn’t that bad... I believe the problem with Carlos originally is that the team wanted him to go into a one stop race and with cars in front of him it just didn’t work... When he first came out of the pits, he was told to not go after Kvyat, that I believe was the mistake... They should have gone out with everything they had and commit to a 2 stopper.

But, hopefully the team will learn from this one... A bad race, but after such a good season so far, we can’t blame them too much for this one.

Hulkenberg will get 1 point back. Kvyat is almost certanly getting a penalty.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Yes, for installation laps with a green track... If I’m not wrong, they didn’t had Lando or Carlos used them in FP2, which is where you get an actual data from the tires.
