The car was only a tenth shy of P6 on the mediums on previous runs. I think they can get within a second of pole and Q3 on mediums.

On another note. It seems like Renault has picked up Pat Fry. I wonder how much he is responsible for this year's car performance. It can't be that much since he left earlier in the season. Most of the development of that car has been carried out by the new people McLaren brought in.
Still you can't undervalue someone with as much experience as Pat. Renault might be a little tougher to beat next season, assuming both teams (McLaren and Renault) make the same jump forward closer to the top 3.

It is only practice, the top teams probably have at least another second in the pocket. Great lap from Norris though, shows there is potential in the car as he was slower than Carlos in sector 1. I hope we see more of this next year.

Pole last year was in the low 32's I don't expect that to be beaten this year, not by much any way. High 31's maybe, so if Norris can sneak in a 32 he'll be sitting pretty in Q3.

What a solid driver Saint is turning into... Q2 and first Q3 laps were outstanding. .5 from HAM!

They were 2.4 seconds faster in FP3 compared to last year... And they will be close to 3 seconds faster In qualifying compared to 2018.

Great work by the team. Clearly 4th best. Hopefully they can take a step forward next year and then be ready to pounce in 2021 with Mercedes engine and a rule change.
