Might help to understand pro vs anti Ackerman steering.Bandit1216 wrote: ↑18 Feb 2020, 21:40Hmmm. Don’t quite grasp it. I have seen Williams is the only team still putting a steering rod in mid airflow, which seems less efficient to me. I thougt all other teams place the rod in front of the lower or higer wishbone, and integrade the teardrop shape as both rods being one teardrop shape. But with the RB16 I can’t see any separate steering piece. I hope my English is suffient to get what I mean.scarbs wrote: ↑18 Feb 2020, 18:18It's a unique set up, the rack is midway between the top and bottom wishbones, but placed rearwards, nearer the front axle line than the front bulkhead. The track rod then reaches backwards to pivot on the upright behind the front axle line. It even passes behind the pushrod.
Easier to create an Ackerman setup, to turn the inner wheel and lower its ride height via the POU geometry
