Lewis Hamilton dominated the Styrian Grand Prix from start to finish to take his first win of the season. Valtteri Bottas passed Verstappen for second in the closing stages, making for a perfect result for Mercedes AMG F1.
I’m more curious if Hamilton (and Verstappen) can get to the end. If not, this will play into Bottas hand who can go on medium (shorter stint than Ham/Ver) or hards and will not have to pit again.
I don't think Merc would have pitted Lewis if they didn't think he could make it to the end. if there's a safety car or anything like that I think they'll all just stop for softs.

And nobody is saying Max is a rain god. Both he and Hamilton are a class above the rest in the wet. And Stroll funninly enough is also very good in the wet.
Another horrific exaggeration.
How do you wanna call it? Vettel used to be up with them but he isnt the same Vettel anymore.
I know the last wet race I saw was Germany 2019 and I don't remember Vettel spinning in that race. The other two did. I look at more than results.
"Sebastian there's very, you're a member of a very select few.. Stewart, Lauda, Piquet, Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Fangio.. VETTEL!"
I don't think Seb has the edge. I understand your opinion, but what was the gap? A tenth? Less? I don't think speed wise they were different last weekend and I don't think there is a gap this weekend either. Vettel had his customary over driving moment of madness last week and Leclerc maximised his result from the mayhem around him, but the bottomline simply is that Ferrari don't have the car, speed, team or leadership. The situation has been so since 2009 and actually their drivers have always been the least of the issues.
In a nutshell, to answer your question I think Leclerc is faster on Saturdays's and Vettel has better pace on Sunday's. The both have been guilty of mistakes in the last year and this is honestly true of any driver on the grid but, results mask a lot of things in this sport.
Interesting and I appreciate the insight. You are right about the gap (0.083) and about the performance of Ferrari in general too (I still wince when I recall 2014).
Where do you think Vettel's edge in pace on Sundays comes from? Is this a gap you think Leclerc will close? Or could close? Or neither?
I think it's just experience. Leclerc, Verstappen just seem to go through their tyres a lot more. I think Hamilton and Vettel are still the class of the field on Sunday in terms of pace. Ricciardo, Verstappen and Leclerc are close.
I think ultimately, Leclerc will learn and get better. In how long? Time will tell.

Hamilton is saving his tires for sure to attempt a fsstest lap towards the end. That’s my bet.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II #Team44 supporter
I don't know about you guys but I am now convinced that Mercedes pays the media every week to brain wash people. Bottas & Hamilton were lapping faster than Verstappen on used tyres. It says A LOT.

Well, Bottas is now falling back and slower than Verstappen. Dialed the car down?

Think Ricciardo is nursing the car with cooling issues, given that Ocon had to retire, and DR had cooling issues last weekend? Seems Perez caught him too quickly.

His pace is consistent with sainz, rp is just blazing fast
