Now we also have the fixed ICE race mode. See how that develops in the next races. Teams need to find new optimisations. Few observations/thoughts after first race / Monza:
1) Dynamics of the qualy sessions is changed since same power is deployed every hot lap. This gives a focus more on performance of the driver
2) My impression is that overtaking is hampered because you cannot create enough overspeed with charged battery and a higher engine mode (at least in Monza)
3) ICE is at risk of overheating, so driver now use short shifting and running out of slipstream until better cooling or optimised engine modes are dialed in. Which manufacturer is best / most smart can run in higher mode (even with development of variable cooling inlets (of possible/legal)?) This could indicate that race power is not only PU effeciency limited, but also PU cooling effeciency limited.
4) VER was running closely behind BOT, could it be that overheating was part of the issue? His team radio could shed light on that may be? Gasly had benefits with cooling with running in clean air most of the race
5) Did Honda test with AT a higher engine mode than with RB? If so the stars were perfectly aligned to benefit from that with Gasly fortunate pitstop. In the end he could fend off Sainz on worn tires.

5) all Honda cars were obligated to run the same engine mode over all 4 cars..

The other 2 Honda PU that were on traffic not suffered overheating. So it should be some cooling setup specific of Max's car??

Albon also was ok for cooling I think? (his issue was floor damage I believe?)

RBR has outdevelop Mercedes at the end of every season because Mercedes has always had such an advantage in the Championship that after the summer break they are already working 100% on the next year’s car, while the rest of the field is still trying to develop their current one... That’s why it has gave the impression of Red Bull been better at developing in the second half of the season, when in reality Merc has been smart enough to focus on early on the following car and therefore show up with a better car from the start of the season
Exactly that ..
I don't think anyone realizes what a beast of an PU the merc is; apparently reliable enough to race in strat2/3
As you say, normally by this time the new car would already be ready, at least as a model. Because of their lead they can switch to next year very early on.
The concept of the 2022 car is already done way before the budget cap will come into play, guaranteeing the same-old-same-old for at least for the first few years; he (or she) that does not drive a merc in the next 5/6 years will not compete for WDC

Alex, Daniil and Pierre had no pressing cooling issues. It's possible the unit Max was using is at the end of it's life. Honda said that all drivers had access to all engines, none had failed, all they did was introduce new parts to the pool as part of their PU management strategy. So it might just be a tired one, we'll probably hear from them soon though. They're pretty good in responding openly with their issues.

is it allowed? if yes then fia failed again. If there is budget cap for 2022 teams must produce 2022 car under budget cap regulations and there must be a starting point no one allowed to start earlier than that.

Yes until the budget cap comes into place you can spend it on anything you want. (Including 2022 car development). I don’t see it as much of a concern as the Redbull budget is only marginally less than Merc’s although I think Ferrari’s still swamps them both.

Formula 1 teams have been banned from developing their cars for the new regulations due in 2022 for the remainder of the year following a World Motor Sport Council ruling.

I didn't know this, is this in the TD? For me it should be logical that every team for themselves could decide which mode they want to run for qualy and fixed for the race?

Communication between the bosses is good at RedBull from my point of view. The aero problems is because the aero department is not gelling as they used to when Newey was full-time. This is why Newey has decided to come back full time for 2021 and 2022. New regs excited him.
you my friend are way off , i've been hearing the same Newey excited by the new rules story for too long now , its a recurrent problem massive problem unsolvable in the current structure as proven in the last 6 years respectively
some directors need to step down new faces needed if Newey rated so highly so the other ones are not convinced by his work or just can't execute it or don't have the ability to do so iam sure there are miscommunications , judging by the money for sure some are not up to the task , i don't know why Hornor are not taking serious steps in this matter ,perhaps he is not a good Team Principal.

Six-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has commended AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly for his win in the Italian Grand Prix, while suggesting Red Bull made a mistake in dropping the Frenchman.

Gasly, who started his F1 career with what was then Toro Rosso in 2017, was promoted to the senior team in 2019 before being demoted after 12 races for poor performance.

Since then, the Frenchman has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in his form, and Hamilton – who had previously taken a veiled shot at Gasly when he was still with Red Bull – says he has been mistreated by his employers.

“Pierre is just a really nice guy and he has a lot of talent and I don’t think he was necessarily treated fairly at Red Bull when he got demoted,” Hamilton explained to reporters on Sunday.
That's just unwanted political shot at Red Bull.

let it slide, just trying to stir things up. If he can provoke unrest in the team he will do it. Albon is doing fine.

It is, probably just reciprocating after Horner suggested they favour HAM over BOT.
These silly little digs just don't add anything to the sport. Poor substitute for this year's cancelled Love Island.
