between who? Williams RBR, STR & FIF1? F1 needs to focus on having more than 9 teams more than adding a new cup. 18 cars on the grid in Melbourne... STR maybe gone next year?

What they should have done was allow customer cars and had seperate constructors & a customer cups. We might still have SAR, SPYKER, MIDLAND, & PRODRIVE AROUND, and maybe a couple others.

Possibly the wrong thread this, but pesonally I don't believe in customer cars, like Frank Williams said "I don't want to compete against four McLarens". However, when an independent team like Williams have a staff of 700 people, something has gone very, very wrong.
I belive in standard engines though, basically as it was with the DFV for fifteen or twenty years.

Williams started off as a customer car team. And they wouldnt be competing against 4 McLarens, they would be competing against 2 in the constructor's championship, the other 2 would be in the Customer's championship. Their shortsidedness, stubbornness, & hipocrasy has left us with a 18 car grid this year, and has led Williams to near bankrupcy.

I'm not sure if Williams deserves quite as much blame as you give them (I'll agree with "stubborn"), but, semantics aside, there is a very serious problem here. With STR supposedly up for sale, assume there are no takers (Honda shows this is a likely scenario). That leaves 16 cars. Is there a point where race organizers will be able to say Bernie has NOT produced the grid promised? Or is there no minimum grid? A circus with only one clown?

Possibly could ditching the now so ridicilous 50 MUSD entry-fee, introducing standard engines/gearboxes and opening up for single-car teams, make it possible to at least ENTER Formula 1?

I think they ditched that a while ago... Dont think Prodrive paid it... but SAR did.

I think it would be good if they have a constructors championship and a customer championship separately. Would allow more teams to enter and stop the constructors complaining.
