Engine budget should be slashed to 1/3rd of what it currently is, then it would make sense.Ground Effect wrote: ↑14 Feb 2021, 16:07Just read an article on Motorsport.com regarding Red Bull’s proposed venture into running it’s own engine programme from 2022. The article suggested they’ve also got one eye on the 2025 rules, and with the infrastructure and equipment they will obviously acquire, they could continue as a works team and build their own engines, possibly in collaboration with a manufacturer. So, isn’t that something McLaren could also look into from 2025 onwards? How cheap, simple would the new engines need to be for it to make sense for McLaren to take up, with maybe a partner?
As far as i understood Zak turned him down, so did Williams which went to another shady deal - RokitScottR267 wrote: ↑14 Feb 2021, 17:58Not sure if anyone else saw it, but William Storey released a video on Rich Energy’s Twitter confirming their ‘return’ to F1. He mentioned was in talks with both McLaren and Williams before going with Haas as they offered a better deal.
Given Zak’s record of recent years and the ilk of sponsors McLaren currently have, surely this wasn’t true?
Money up front is the only thing which would be acceptable. But brand image would suffer and i am certain Zak is smart enough to stay away.
I suppose technically that does constitute "talks" lolproteus wrote: ↑14 Feb 2021, 18:09As far as i understood Zak turned him down, so did Williams which went to another shady deal - RokitScottR267 wrote: ↑14 Feb 2021, 17:58Not sure if anyone else saw it, but William Storey released a video on Rich Energy’s Twitter confirming their ‘return’ to F1.
