I don’t mean arrogance in a negative way, I mean it in a positive way. Merc are 100% aware of how much better they are than everyone else. That’s why they were the only team who didn’t test the new floor in Abu Dhabi and the only team who did not test with their upgraded car in Bahrain.
Confidence is the word you're looking for, arrogance doesn't have a positive connotation!

I don't see Verstappen at Mercedes especially if Red Bull is in a prime position to win both titles this year.

I don't remember the specificity of Verstappen's new contract at Red Bull but doesn't his performance out clauses only trigger from 2021 or 2022 onwards?

Not sure how you got that. I am a French speaker and he clearly said there's something new in the car that wasn't there in testing.

What does he say? Please don't go to the trouble of anything painstaking like word for word, but very interested to get the gist!

To some things up in response to the interviewer talking about Merc innovations and DAS, Toto replied (somewhat teasing tone) DAS is nothing then in a bit more serious tone that they ( the media i assume) haven't seen yet the new updates that will be on the car for the first race , that the new regulations open the doors for new idea and innovation and he finished by saying that he doesn't think the new floor will bring that much more performance, he reckons it looks nice but innovations are useless if they only look cool and don't bring performance

The way he says that DAS was nothing compared to what they'll have on the car for the first race ... it's clearly not in a serious tone of voice ... he then changes to a serious tone and goes on about regulation changes allowing for innovation etc etc

Both drivers speaking to SkyF1 on the F1 show sounded like they expect to not be top team in Bahrain, but will be improving in future. Maybe they just don't have the Token updates ready in time.

I thought you needed to have spent your tokens before the first GP?

Token parts has to be on the car for the weekend as far asI understand and generally you can't just swap such parts that easily. But the general picture that Mercedes and tech journalists want to paint is that Mercedes low-rake concept is affected more by the new regulations than high-rake concepts. Peak performance might be there but the rear end is more suceptible to wind and other factors. Though Mercedes won't be able to shift rake-concept mid-season they should be able to get updates that limit the damage the new regulations have had on their performance. Mercedes already realised this in pre-season testing so they should have upgrades in a few weeks.

This comes with the caveat that Mercedes is struggling a bit more tha Red Bull.
