Please watch the Alonso F1 Race start in tweeter. It seems he is in 1 gear and not the perfect pull.

Agree, he gave up when the team asked him to retire the car for a safety issue with the brakes... coward!godlameroso wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 21:11I feel bad for Alonso. I think he just gave up, he felt there's nothing to race for, call it a day.
McLaren made a switch to Mercedes PU, but that´s not a new PU, ie they will only suffer some packaging problems. Alpine switching to their new PU would cause packaging problems, but also teethering problems as the PU is untested. It seems all hopes rest on 2022 chassis and 2022 power unit, but none of this has been demonstrated. The upward trend of the 2018 Renault really seems to have stalled badly. In 2019 they went backwards, in 2020 they improved a bit, now 2021 and they have gone backwards again.
But surely if everything rests on that why wouldn’t they at least make sure the new engine is not a dud by putting it into a new 2020 chassis? I mean you can lose or gain a lot of performance/reliability just by how good the packaging is so you’d think they would want to test that before the new regs and make sure it’s actually as good and reliable as they hope it is. The whole thing is just baffling considering they had another chance to do it in 2021 and failed to take the decision while McLaren saw the opportunity to change practically there whole car and jumped at the opportunity. Now they are stuck again with an engine package that’s going to be useless next year. It doesn’t make any sense..
Alonso signing in with Alpine is a good evidence if you aske me. He left F1 because he didn´t have a competitive car, he must have seen something on Alpine´s project to sign inJordanMugen wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 23:50Maybe, but where is the racey approach and continual improvement from Renault and Alpine?

You act like he didn't have such issues in his last year at McLaren when he was fighting for p12.Andres125sx wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 09:06Agree, he gave up when the team asked him to retire the car for a safety issue with the brakes... coward!godlameroso wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 21:11I feel bad for Alonso. If they're fighting for victories next year like Alpine plan on doing, they will not have problems luring a top driver for 2023. Maybe even Daniel Ricciardo.Jambier wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 13:40Agreedselvam_e2002 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 12:54He did same for Mclaren+Honda which failed horribly. But I suspect Alonso aiming for 2022. There was an opportunity here to be back and have a shot with 2022
So that’s why he is here.
My concern for Alpine is the future: RIC was the perfect long term driver, now what?
Yeah, he'd been known to do that during those terrible McLaren Years. The Car was terrible and there was no hope insight. It isn't the same in 2021, he's still trying to up his game to where it was.godlameroso wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 13:54You act like he didn't have such issues in his last year at McLaren when he was fighting for p12.Andres125sx wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 09:06Agree, he gave up when the team asked him to retire the car for a safety issue with the brakes... coward!godlameroso wrote: ↑28 Mar 2021, 21:11I feel bad for Alonso. Danny Ric went to McLaren because he felt they were in a better position to deliver a winning car with the rule shake-up than Renault/Alpine. Given that McLaren have a settled leadership team with a strong technical team delivering consistent on-track results, versus the umpteenth shake-up at Renault, I would be very surprised if Alpine build a better 2022 car than McLaren. I seem to recall DR signing a 3 year deal, so that's him at McLaren until end of 2023 anyway.diffuser wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 14:39If they're fighting for victories next year like Alpine plan on doing, they will not have problems luring a top driver for 2023. Looking long term, Alpine might be looking to get a promising young talent on board. Gasly and Ocon could be a French dream team for them. I suspect Red Bull will be keen to promote Tsunoda to the senior team if he keeps on performing, so Gasly would need a seat in another top team if he want a shot at wins and titles. Alpha Tauri will not be that team, I don't think.
Russel is Merc property and is going to Merc at some point.selvam_e2002 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2021, 20:04I would say bring Russel in place of Ocon. It is a good choice for them in long run.
