If memory serves it can all be written of as advertising, and they might even be able to gain some information from it.
They already lost the 2016 championship.
I don't think they are deliberately behind in the constructors championship, if it was deliberate they would be one point behind or at most a single figure digit behind instead of being 40 points behind.selvam_e2002 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2021, 04:14I don't remember.... some one said in this thread that Mercedes deliberately loosing point to RB to get more wind tunnel. There is an article which confirms that, Mercedes getting more windtunnel time starting today i.e. 1st of July 2021. We will see if they did lost the point deliberately or not now on.
Not sure for which car they are going to use 5% of Wind tunnel testing this year car or next year car..... no clue.
Much like any other team that has been at the top for a long time and realised F1 is 75% politics 25% actual racing.Pyrone89 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2021, 17:20Now Hamilton is saying he knew updates were coming already for some time. Just like Wolff he is directly saying the opposite of last weekend when he was making it appear he didn’t know about updates.
Coupled with the constant insinuating RB is somehow cheating and their exhausting underdog theatre, this makes it hard to like them or take anything they say seriously.
Just be authentic for a change
I dont remember Ferrari, Williams or Red Bull doing it this way in their era. Sure there was some politics, but none of the fake defeatismSiLo wrote: ↑01 Jul 2021, 17:22Much like any other team that has been at the top for a long time and realised F1 is 75% politics 25% actual racing.Pyrone89 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2021, 17:20Now Hamilton is saying he knew updates were coming already for some time. The best thing you can do is ignore 90% of what you read in the media about these teams.
Then again, we didn't have the same media, and online media, social media either to constantly ask for quotes adn 'controversy' to bait clicks and views about motorsports (yes, we always had trash press, esp. in UK, and surely in Italy too, with rubbish stories about teams and drivers, but not everyone was doing that sort of stuff), and a lot less access to what was said, so it ended up a lot more filtered.Pyrone89 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2021, 17:25I dont remember Ferrari, Williams or Red Bull doing it this way in their era. I don't need to say anymore. It's just the world we live in today.bosyber wrote: ↑01 Jul 2021, 17:38Then again, we didn't have the same media, and online media, social media either to constantly ask for quotes adn 'controversy' to bait clicks and views about motorsports (yes, we always had trash press, esp. in UK, and surely in Italy too, with rubbish stories about teams and drivers, but not everyone was doing that sort of stuff), and a lot less access to what was said, so it ended up a lot more filtered.
In the Williams and McLaren era's certainly, it was a lot easier to not be aware of the amount of pettiness when I was watching F1 in NL, because we just didn't have that amount of coverage, for example.
