Hopefully he gets off with a warning. Regardless, he and Leclerc should be in good position if they have the race pace they think they do.

Did I just notice this or has Leclerc always sat this high in the cockpit? Looks like Russell sitting in the car
Scroll back a few pages. This has been widely discussed. It’s weird how high he sits!
Wouldn't that induce more drag?

Comfort in his driving position offsets the added drag I think. He also sinks his head on the straights to reduce drag

This looks more like his head moving back due to G force while accelerating.

The reason I doubt that he can sink his head is that drivers must be seated in a pretty stable position.
But even if, can’t imagine him doing that on every straight and every lap.

After these 2 races, I think Ferrari dropped a lot of potential points unfortunately. No doubt McLaren has the 3rd fastest car at this stage (in Lando's hands)... but they've had a lot of pace in the race that they couldn't really utilise, either due to being stuck behind other cars or poorer qualifying.

Hoping that they can have a bit of a strong showing in Silverstone in a couple of weeks time... but at the same time, long term wise if Ferrari finishes P4 they'll get a bit of extra time in the wind-tunnel getting prepared for 2022.

It happens suddenly and when he straightens the car out, it's not the g force. He does it on the biggest straights in qualifying, I remember him doing it on the Baku straight as well

Damage limitation was the name of the game and it looks like Ferrari’s move to race pace was a great idea.

Sainz probably had the better strategy and the late pass on Ricciardo was excellent. Charles just missed on passing Daniel as well.

Overall, leaving both Austria races with good points at a place where the car was clearly disadvantaged to the Mercedes and Honda engined cars is a plus in my opinion.

Side note: Ferrari no doubt needs to go ahead and offer Sainz an extension over summer break. I think his integration has been excellent and if Ferrari has a car to take on Mercedes and Red Bull next year, this driver pairing can definitely compete.

Last week I agree, Charles crash wasted a P5 but today they did a solid damage limitation job. Fantastic drive from Sainz both weeks. Lando is just driving incredibly. He capitalises when the car is fast like we failed to do in Monaco and to some extent Baku

Ferrari showed good pace and good tyre life again. Good strategy too. All in all, can’t really fault them.

This is a power track and just a few races ago we had all just resigned to being well behind Mclaren on this type of track. Considering how close we were in race pace, I consider this a net win.

It’s good to see Ferrari and Mclaren battling again - takes me back to ‘the glory days’ of the 00’s. Hopefully this marks a return to form for BOTH teams and we can be fighting at the front for top honours and not 8-6 points.

I think in some senses there were points lost, in the sense that the race pace seemed genuinely very strong both weeks and up there with Lando/Bottas’ today. But I’m not sure that - without some luck - it could really have gone much differently. They needed to sacrifice some quali pace (or so it seems) to get this good race pace and that meant they were always in traffic.

I don’t think the McLaren is definitively the faster car, I think it’s very track dependent. There could potentially be more tracks that suit the McLaren - especially with Singapore gone - but I think the upside for the Ferrari is good; I think a pole, a podium and conceivably even a win is potentially in the cards for Hungary (not saying they will win or get pole but I think they can be in the fight).

This Ferrari (sucrificing quali for race setup) reminds me pre 2013 days. Poor in qualies but good in race (at least in ALO's hands)
