If Bottas gets a better start than Lewis, Max can challenge Lewis going on the outside of turn 1. It's hard to see how Perez can disrupt mercedes at the start.
Bottas can easily lose P2 from max though. And possibly come together.
Down the field the Mclaren, Ferrari and Torro Rosso are really tight. I would love to see Gasly get a clean first lap and show what the Alpha Tauri can do when running in clean air.
Race should be exciting.

The strategy is anyone's guess. I havent been paying much attention to the long runs to have any insight. But... if Redbull fuel the car heavy to go all out on engine power and sprint the whole race with a 2 stop and no fuel saving, Max could possible attaco and overtake near the end.
For Sure!!

If Hamilton is ahead of Verstappen after the first lap, Mercedes will mirror Verstappen's strategy even if it means Bottas wins the GP instead. That said, Hamilton even on a 2-stopper will still beat Bottas and Perez. They just need to - and certainly will - cover Verstappen

Track positions for each time a driver crossed the start/finish line when starting their final Q3 lap. Nothing shocking

Interesting race with Mercedes on mediums and Red Bull on softs. For Perez hopes of a contract renewal he needs to finish nose to tail to Verstappen, and that probably means nailing the start. Will be interesting to see if Perez will get in the way of Verstappen if Perez gets off the line better. Or if he will be aggressive into turn 1. I think he kinda needs to have a controlled aggression at the start, because it is reasonable to pass people in the turns 1 to 3 sequence at the start. And he needs to be on the heels of Verstappen, at least.

Ricciardo will be interesting to watch since he will be the first person probably on the mediums with only Mercedes ahead of him on the mediums. He is also someone that really needs a good race going into the break.
Last year the 3 stop (this year’s 2 stop) was actually viable and Stroll managed a top 5. Bottas even was able to chase Verstappen down despite pitting one more. It is a very aggressive strategy but will work if you’re right behind the leader or you are the leader, ideally you don’t want to be sucked into the midfield or be stuck behind other drivers if you pit again. If Perez can keep 4th place then the 2 stop is good for Max, otherwise these C2 tyres can easily last 45-50 laps like they did for
some drivers in last years race, then you can still make it an effective 1 stop race stretching the C4 20-25 laps then stretching the C2 if you start on the C4 that is.

Be aware that some thunderstorms have visited the track this morning. It is currently still wet and some more isolated, small showers may hit the track during the remainder of the morning.
The somewhat clearing skies then will pump up the temperature to 30 degrees again. This will get higher depending on the amount of cloud remaining. With light clouds it could hit 35 degrees. This will lead to new scattered thunderstorms which may pop up around 1600 hrs.

The rain has probably reduced the grip of the track. This could be a disadvantage to the cars driving with less wing. Nevertheless, the race may become a lotery if the afternoon rain comes in. Could get very interesting...

I just hope it continues raining. Will make for a great start to the race and shake up the strategy.

Dry race? Depends on the timing of the afternoon thunderstorms.

Did it state whether it is a new engine (3rd) or the other used one (1st)?
