Who is the favorite for the spare Williams seat that George vacates?Diesel wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:28It does seem pretty clear GR is going to Mercedes. It seems the loose end is what happens to Bottas. Putting him back in the Williams does seem overly harsh, but his only other options are Alfa or Haas...
Unless of course there is a performance clause in Ricciardo's contract...
Well, motorsport.com (Italy) hints that Albon is in the running for that seat. Not a reliable source I suppose, but who knows. He was in his F2 days not far apart from RUS.nzjrs wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:30Who is the favorite for the spare Williams seat that George vacates?Diesel wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:28It does seem pretty clear GR is going to Mercedes. Besides Albon, Nyck de Vries’ name has been rumoured. They were both very competative with Russel and Norris in F2.nzjrs wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:30Who is the favorite for the spare Williams seat that George vacates?Diesel wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:28It does seem pretty clear GR is going to Mercedes. If not Albon, would Williams sign someone like Hulkenberg, or even Giovinazzi should Alfa not re-sign him?nzjrs wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:30Who is the favorite for the spare Williams seat that George vacates?Diesel wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:28It does seem pretty clear GR is going to Mercedes. Williams need not only a good driver who will bring headlines, but also someone who brings, directly or indirectly, money. I mean they either need Mercedes kit to come with the driver, or the driver bring enough in cash or sponsorship to allow them to pay full price.codetower wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 21:37If not Albon, would Williams sign someone like Hulkenberg, or even Giovinazzi should Alfa not re-sign him?nzjrs wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:30Who is the favorite for the spare Williams seat that George vacates?Diesel wrote: ↑31 Aug 2021, 19:28It does seem pretty clear GR is going to Mercedes. The big thing is the word “should”, or the hope that the field is closer together.McMika98 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2021, 00:06Next year will be a clean slate and provide opportunity for the true racers to outshine. Budget and new regs should level the field so the car should not matter especially in the first half.
Glad Albon is given a second chance, he will deliver more points for sure. Expecting Hamilton and Max to crash many a times when every1 can race against them fairly.
Russel to Merc and Bottas/ de Vries at Alfa. I actually would like that from the drivers side.
How would Toto becomes more powerful? Toto may be Driver manager for Bottas and De Vries, but Ferrari controls Alfa.
If the story is correct the deal would include Alfa switching to Merc enginesRyar wrote: ↑01 Sep 2021, 04:39How would Toto becomes more powerful? Toto may be Driver manager for Bottas and De Vries, but Ferrari controls Alfa.
