Don't know about that. Alonso keeps opening eyes.Big Tea wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 12:12Surely the obvious target if they were thinking that is Bottas? Better for all concerned too.peewon wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 05:37https://twitter.com/AddictF2/status/1434123089944760322
According to AmUs, Lawrence Stroll offered Fernando Alonso a contract to be alongside Lance Stroll next year. Alonso didn’t accept it. It’s not clear why Aston Martin wanted to replace Vettel
Speculation
Not questioning his driving ability, he is one of the best, but how long has he left, and he tends to destroy teammatesdiffuser wrote: ↑05 Sep 2021, 17:23Don't know about that. I would if he wasn't doing the job.
Yeah he kind of tried to drive Alonzo off the track, Alonzo was on the dirt. Not very nice of Ocon.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑06 Sep 2021, 03:47When Ocon banged wheel with Alonso on lap 1 it seemed to have fired up Alonso to do the next two overtakes on the outside of turn 3.
I think as the reputation of Alonso the mega starter grows, people will get more aggressive with him, in sort of a "youre not gonna do that to me" type of way.diffuser wrote: ↑06 Sep 2021, 04:12Yeah he kind of tried to drive Alonzo off the track, Alonzo was on the dirt. Yeah it reminded me of Ocons past with Perez. Alonso schooled him though which was satisfying.diffuser wrote: ↑06 Sep 2021, 04:12Yeah he kind of tried to drive Alonzo off the track, Alonzo was on the dirt. I think it's not abnormal for Ocon to assume Alonso was gonna back off earlier than he did. He wasn't far alongside Ocon, and it's his teammate so you'd expect him to play particularly nice. Indeed Alonso backs off even before Ocon really shuts the door, just 0,5s later than Ocon expected. Nothing in their respective first laps really shocked me TBH. Both drivers tried to gain ground without any kamikaze move.

It is the driver at the inside who must play nice, not the driver who is pushed out!factory_p wrote: ↑06 Sep 2021, 10:24I think it's not abnormal for Ocon to assume Alonso was gonna back off earlier than he did. Ocon was on the limit, he didn´t leave a car width space, but didn´t push him off completely either. When it´s one's teammate that is on the outside, normally a driver leave's a car width space, which Ocon didn´t do. Both Alpines could have finished the race in the barriers. They were lucky.
