Yes it looks like we're 4th fastest
Thanks, didn't watch. So this is the kind of update I was looking for, not reading into laptimes, but the body language.
Makes you wonder why Red Bull needs such a large flared out exit hole at the back of the engine cover compared to Racing Bulls.
T1: Decent, but lacking some grip.venkyhere wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 18:43Thanks, didn't watch. So this is the kind of update I was looking for, not reading into laptimes, but the body language.
How does it look through T10 ? Rotating like a walrus or a gazelle ? Or a cow ? How does S2 time look, compared with Mclaren and Mercedes ?
Last corner if not solved will kill the race. Won't be able to defend, won't be able to attack in the longest DRS straight of all.
Yes, same story as Suzuka. They're running very conservatively in FP2. Losing out a bit too much out of 14, but not sure if it was just due to not being able to hold on to the tires, or if Max made a mistake. George for example had a better run through S3 compared to McLaren.

T2: Unable to open up the entry due to lacking grip at exit of T1.
T4: neutral balance
T8: Wider line through hairpin corner (could be a choice like Japan, or just struggling to slow down)
T10: neutral balance
T11: neutral balance
T13: Strong front
T14: messy
That was for his lap on the softs that was 1 tenth behind Hadjar.
Yeah, expect McLaren to be clearly ahead and then have a group of Merc/Ferrari/Red Bull.Emag wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 18:57Yes, same story as Suzuka. They're running very conservatively in FP2. Still, at the very least, they're in the mix to be the next followers after McLaren (unless picture changes tomorrow)
Don't compare with Lando, I think he killed the tires and didn't have grip in T13 and T14. Oscar was much better in T13 and T14 :AR3-GP wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 18:54T1: Decent, but lacking some grip.venkyhere wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 18:43Thanks, didn't watch. The thing that really stood out to me compared to previous years is T13. The car looked crazy hooked up there. I just checked the telemetry w/ Norris and confirmed it was a very good corner as Max gained 1 tenth there.

Thanks, for some reason I assumed Norris did the faster lap. He did not...Emag wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 19:01

Racingbulls is turned up earlier. Exactly same pattern as previous races. That they are up high is a good sign.Cs98 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 19:07I'm not seeing any engine mode here. Only straight line losses are before and after T14, which can be explained by McLaren running less wing and Verstappen having a poor exit on the final corner. RB usually run lower engine on Friday, but since this is the only representative session they may have turned it up today, at least on the short run. On the long run it's still conservative. Deg is high, brakes were sh*t, balance was off in some corners, so still a lot of time to find on both short and long.
Oh, and Tsunoda is in for a ride I think.
Racing Bulls is running a lower DF wing than Max was, hence the speed difference. There's no actual acceleration difference though.Sieper wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 19:13Racingbulls is turned up earlier.
