This is ridiculous! Stop associating Mercedes and Antonelli like they had anything to do with Mclaren and their championship fight. It is Mclaren's fault that they had a double DNF in Vegas and a terrible strategy call in Qatar that made it even remotley possible for Max to be in this championship fight. I am not associating anything. Ant clearly did an error on not defending, even moving out of the way in the second stint. I am not claiming this on the WDC, as mentioned clearly above I think he was more afraid of crashing and this not being his race. But I think the latter is wrong, this cost him the podium chance in my point of view.
