Bernie couldn't do anything at Indy in 2005 and he can't do anything now. Max has totally run amok. I hope he likes F2, I mean F1 with all the nobodies running. Ferrari and Mac have been agreeing on much lately. I wonder where all these teams are going to get engines.... Cosworth? Even Toyota will likely not give their engines to Williams which, I think, has a year by year contract.
This is it. This is something that makes the FISA/FOCA war look like tiddly-winks. Max has made his final stand. There is no way the FOTA teams will enter. It is not a matter of pride, it is a matter of principle. Why would they want to be 100% subject to the unchecked whims of a madman? They know 100% what they would get from Mosley and slavery/subjugation has zero interest for them.
This is all timed by Max. Normally the deadline for the 2010 season would be 11/30/09 but this year Max advanced it, unilaterally of course, to be before the FIA elections. Hmmmm..... Of course he offered the excuse that all the "new" teams needed more notice which is another Mosley lie, because Toyota, Aguri, and Stewart all seemed to be able to enter as brand new teams with the 11/30 deadline in the years that they entered. This prohibited the manufacturer teams from running their own FIA presidential candidate in time to scuttle Max's crazy budget rules.
BTW, I must interject that AutoSport is a fully compromised news source effectively neutered by the FIA via threats of access denial. It is so painfully obvious when every time I read their site they use the phrase "voluntary budget cap". This is clearly a phrase that the FIA is making them use under a threat. I have little respect for a publication that has sold its journalistic soul to do the bidding of the power-brokers. If the budget cap were so "voluntary" then the teams would have no problem. It is 100% compulsory and that is the issue. Every time I read such biased reporting it makes me sick. How can they represent such bilge as journalism? It is a joke. Everything I read there I now interpret as suspect. What has been left out? What has been injected? What has been spun? What impression is being conveyed, by whom, for whom? I now read AutoSport as Solzheneitzen would read Pravda.... to find out what the enemy want me to think. I guess they can be trusted to report the lap times correct but little else.
Pitpass, Saward, Mercg at updateF1.com and other unaffiliated sources are where I look for reliable info.
The teams should still run a candidate for FIA president anyway for the sake of WRC, saloon cars and all the other series that Max is also mismanaging.
