Just to jump on the bandwagon here... your both correct, but let’s not forget they’ve also been good on tyres & breaks again. That has been another contributing factor to their performance relative to some of their midfield competition
It's a good all round car. They are where they are
because they have a good all round car I think. We have got points through luck, for sure, but we have lost points through luck also so it is not the answer.
We aren't the clear fourth fastest car at every track and our Qualification performances makes our car look a bit slower than what it is, but we are fast enough to push for 4th or 5th fastest in most races, which is why in most races we can get points.
The reason why I think their points is their biggest edge? They have, pretty much, double the points everyone below them have. They haven't been twice as good as them. That, double the point, doesn't reflect how close it is.
I agree with what your saying, the points might make someone look at the table and think we are always fourth and not challenged and that's not true.
But I think we are consistently close with different teams, which is due to the car being useful almost everywhere, more so than other cars, and that is what I think the table does show. But 5 races in you can't yet really say it is that representative either yet.
I think/hope the next few races will underline the competitiveness of the car at different tracks and leave us with a bigger margin than we have now.
