Some radio comms after race sim laps (HAM did 9 laps on softs and then 4 laps on hard tyres and had this comment from Adami, with LEC only 11 laps on M tyres):

Or are they super conservative with engine mode?
more fuel, and lower engine mode than others based on what Fred said.

- "As you saw, we had several issues in FP1, but the tests in FP2 gave good sensations, and there are positive indications. We need to better analyze the data tonight, but the sensations are good."

- "McLaren had a bit less fuel, as they always do in FP2 and FP3, while we followed the usual program. We now have a good comparison between the two floors. There are some adjustments to make, and we will make the best choice for tomorrow."

- "Charles' pace was good; it’s a good starting point. Among the negative points of the session, the first sector was not very positive. It depends a lot on the fuel and engine mappings. Let’s not jump to conclusions."

- "We try to stay focused on the work we have to do. When you arrive at the weekend, it’s very important to stay focused, to work as a group and as a team, and so far, we’re doing well. We are fully committed this weekend. Let’s focus on that. How do I sleep? Very well, thank you."
Both Charles' and Lewis' pace looked good as well

Is it possible that every single weekend we go through this in fp1 and fp2? Ferrari runs an extremely low engine mode during Free Practice, has been consistently doing this since Monza ‘22 at minimum.

Can we wait FP3 before we decide we’re all gonna die?

Engine mode doesn't look all that different to McLaren but maybe I'm not reading it correctly
