Apparently Alonso is happy with the AMR25 in the sim according to this source. On the other hand Stroll is not. Don't know the reliability of this source so please take it with a pinch of salt.

Reminds me of early 2023, when Alonso was happy with the car but Stroll wasn't. Once the FW was outlawed/changed, and the team tried to accommodate Stroll the car seemed to fall off a cliff, hope something similar doesn't happen again...

ALO is hardly ever in the simulator (in the factory), very likely that it was his first try last week in the new sim. Don't know how helpful the sim is for STR.

The good thing is, the truth comes out tomorrow, or as Russell expressed it:
I think within five laps you know if you're in for a good season or not
And yes, there are "miracles", like McLaren 2023, but highly unlikely with stable rules since 4 years and new rules ahead...

Yeah I remember last year. Alonso complained about slow turn in when he driving the amr24 in the sim. I’m sure someone could find the comment

Find it interesting that the Mercedes this year. Is basically a carbon copy of the amr 24 with the sidepod and undercut but we’ve opted away from it
Of course there are similarities as Aston is still a customer of Mercedes. In fact, Aston kept the same 2024 Mercedes gearbox, same Mercedes frozen engine, same suspensions both at front and rear and more.

But good news is that Aston is 100% new aerodynamically as Cowell said. We can also see the Luca Furbato's touch, similar to the Torro Rosso back in the days, with a concentration of raiding mass above the engine for more cooling space in the tail at the bottom.

In less then 24h we will know more about the performance of these chooses, although I think they are focusing more on making the car easier to drive rather then focusing on performance.

We can only guess at the end we are not F1 experts.
