Teams push the limits and sometimes they run the car too low, I haven't seen any credible reporting suggesting it has got anything to do with a new TD. There's enough conspiracies in the McLaren thread for the entire forum, let's not add to it.

It takes a bit to long for the decision, maybe its not as clear as everybody thought.
There's only one way it couldn't be clear and that's if the FIA did a mistake.

McLaren is also one of the teams with no proper long term stints in the practices, you can make mistakes.

This change was announced so if McLaren depended on it they would have raised the floor, it's probably a miscalculation in predicted plank wear.

They did say plan B in the race, it could be that with tires going longer they ran lower to the ground and caused the wear.

it's clear. The skid was checked on both cars and it's below 9mm. There's no ifs or buts about what this means. It's a double DSQ. Any other outcome would be a scandal. The FIA and Mclaren are probably just working on a flowery press release for Mclaren's wrongdoing.

The season is ending, and McLaren just had to play it safe. What were they pushing the limits for? It's not like they lack relative performance to others. I can understand some teams being desperate for something but with last weekend everything is wrapped up as far as they were concerned.

What is happening is incredible. It's like the racing gods know who should be champion and they are insuring it.

They have two drivers competing for the WDC. Neither one of them wants a disadvantage to the other.

Also, it's a car that hasn't been on the limits of plank wear, their drivers never lift and coast like they did with NOR today, unlike Ferrari for example, nor did they run very long on a particular set of tires like Russell in SPA. Vegas was not particularly bumpy either, so it was very big error on MCLs part stemming for either their lack of long runs in practice or maybe the TD.

It was reported that it's the Monza floor. I think it's on one of the previous pages.

I‘m relieved! But still, its Norris‘ DC to lose.
