And ethanol is for drinking, not to be burnt by no combustion engine...

I saw it on the Discovery Channel a while back...

They accelerate this certain particle to super speeds, then shoot it at a copper plate. 1 out of every 10,000 shots results in what is called anti-matter.

And enough to fill a watch battery is supposed to contain enough power to run your house for 10 years or something crazy like that...

It is the mass production that becomes the problem...

I'm working on a black hole battery in my garage.

The only problem is that I can't seem to make it stop sucking. I guess it will end up being a battery for vacuum cleaners only. 8)

Amateurs... You did it too big!!!!

As every kid in 5º year knows, black holes evaporate at a speed inversely proportional to their mass, so a smaller black hole should work for a decent vacuum cleaner. Watch out Hawking radiation, though.

In a (somewhat) more serious note, I find it hard to imagine that someone would create antimatter batteries. Sounds cool and all, and very mass-efficient (E=mc² after all), but it doesn't seem productive to me. I mean, you need such a huge amount of energy to create antimatter today. But for the brighter minds, please, go ahead!
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

Definately uses alot of energy to make. I believe that the show that I saw used a collider that had its own nuclear plant...

But to be able to make a watch battery sized container for portable usage is almost worth the effort.

As long as CERN doesnt concentrate on event horizons for time travel attempts, maybe they can become the worlds leader in anti-matter battery production!

HA!
As a Physics grad I'll have to laugh really hard at that. You know how us physicists cannot be bothered with "real" problems. We'll have to find solutions to things that only 3 people in the world would even appreciate. We'll leave the practical problem solutions to the commoners we call engineers. :P

Jokes aside, I really do hope they work on something worth working on that LHC: If they can get it running first.

When Ferrari starts getting blown away by hybrid sports cars from other manufacturers whose cars also cost less and use less fuel, they will then finally look into it.

Some manufacterer will figure out a AWD mid engined hybrid where the front wheels are from electric motors with re-gen braking, and turn off the gas engine in traffic. And I know for sure it wont be Ferrari first, but maybe Porsche or Audi or Honda or Toyota or Nissan(might be the next skyline)
